This for-profit company markets CREON., a pancreatic enzyme and has established the Partners in Caring program which offers educational and motivational materials as well as provides funding for college scholarships, basic research, and partnerships with CF Centers. Solvay Pharmaceuticals does not sell its pancreatic enzyme (Creon.) directly to the public. Pancreatic enzymes can be obtained from any pharmacy with a doctor's prescription. The components of the Partners in Caring program are available through CF Centers and include: Yearly scholarships for college, vocational school, and graduate students; Educational materials such as booklets for CF teens, teachers, and CF siblings; a series of video tapes on a wide range of topics; and professional support for CF caregivers; motivational materials designed to make visits to the CF Center more enjoyable; sponsorship of the Great Strides walk-a-thons; research grants to the CFF; alliance with the CF Center at Emory University.
