DIGEST
Sometimes simply getting one big message a day, instead of individual messages as they are posted, allows sufficiently quick scanning to solve the problem. To set your subscription to DIGEST send the following command in the body of an email message to LISTSERV@PEACH.EASE.LSOFT.COM

INDEX
Another alternative is to receive a daily list (or "index") of the Subjects of the messages posted to CYSTIC-L, but not the messages themselves. To set your subscription to INDEX send the following command in the body of an email message to LISTSERV@PEACH.EASE.LSOFT.COM
SET CYSTIC-L INDEX

To retrieve the message(s) that interest you, just reply and print out the numbers of the messages you want (the reply should go to CYSTIC-L-SEARCH-REQUEST@PEACH.EASE.LSOFT.COM).

TOPICS
In addition, you can set your subscription to the following topics at any time, and can switch them around all you like. Just send the following commands in the body of an email message to LISTSERV@PEACH.EASE.LSOFT.COM saying:

SET CYSTIC-L TOPICS=CF
SET CYSTIC-L TOPICS=OTHER
SET CYSTIC-L TOPICS=ALL

Setting to CF will mean you receive only those messages that have Subject lines beginning with CF: (for the "medical" aspects of CF). Setting to OTHER will mean you receive only those messages that *do not* have Subject lines beginning with CF: (for the "social support" aspects of CYSTIC-L). Setting to ALL will mean you receive all messages posted to CYSTIC-L (note that this is the default if you do not set TOPICS after subscribing). Note that the listserver will send messages that have Subject lines beginning with a variant of RE: to the appropriate topic(s) just as if the RE: wasn't there.

[CYSTIC-L] SUBJECT TAG
To distinguish email from Cystic-L, the Subject is prefixed with [C-L]. To turn off this option, send the following message to: LISTSERV@PEACH.EASE.LSOFT.COM saying:

SET CYSTIC-L NOSUBJ

If you want to turn this option on again, send this message: SET CYSTIC-L SUBJ

You may turn this option on and off as often as you like.

Notes:
1. When sending commands to manage your CYSTIC-L subscription, put them in the *body* of an email message, and make certain they go to this address (they will have no effect otherwise): LISTSERV@PEACH.EASE.LSOFT.COM

2. Listserv will send you a confirmation request for every command you send to it. Your command will not take effect unless you respond to the confirmation request (so be sure to wait a couple of minutes to receive and respond to the confirmation request).
